Tencent's Dowson: AI Race Is a Marathon, Scenes Are Key

Tencent's senior executive Dowson recently published an article, co-written with AI, addressing criticism that Tencent is slow in AI. He admitted computing power shortages affected the Hunyuan model but stressed that the AI race is a marathon, and endurance matters more than early starts. He said the industry should focus not only on models but also on engineering and real-world scenarios, which are Tencent's strengths. Earlier, CEO Ma Huateng also said Tencent sticks to the right path and builds on its own advantages.
