Tidal says AI music can be uploaded but not paid
Music streaming platform Tidal has announced its AI policy. It will still accept AI-generated music, but those tracks must be labeled and can't earn direct money. Tidal says it won't allow any AI music that tricks listeners or lowers quality. The platform wants higher standards for AI content. Tidal admits we're just at the start of the AI music era, and there's still debate about royalties for approved AI music. But their main goal is to make sure royalties go to human-created original music, so AI-generated works won't be eligible for payments.
