Universal Music Partners with ElevenLabs to Build AI Music Platform

Universal Music Group in the US has signed a multi-year licensing deal with AI audio company ElevenLabs. The two will build a new AI music creation platform based on licensed music and artist participation. This is ElevenLabs' first partnership with a major record label.

The platform will let fans create music together with artists and songwriters, including remixes, mashups, new renditions, and personalized voice experiences. More products and fan experiences are planned.

UMG Chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge said putting artists, songwriters, and fans at the center is the most exciting possibility in AI and music. Both sides believe responsible AI can spark music discovery, deepen artist-fan connections, and open new revenue streams for the creative community.
