Veteran VC Kleiner Perkins Raises $3.5B to Invest in AI Startups

Kleiner Perkins, a 50-year-old venture capital firm, is raising $3.5 billion to invest in AI startups reshaping industries like software, healthcare, transportation, and autonomous driving. It is known for early investments in Google and Amazon.

Of the funds, $1 billion goes to its 22nd early-stage fund for promising AI startups, while $2.5 billion supports growth-stage AI companies. In H1 2025, 58% of global VC funds flowed to AI, up over 100% YoY, showing AI as a core asset class.
