WeChat Releases Governance Notice: Crack Down on Black/Gray Industry's Abuse of AI to Generate Illegal Content Webpages

Have you ever encountered illegal content in unknown links while surfing the web? Black and gray industry groups are using AI to batch-generate webpages with pornographic, gambling or other illegal content, spreading them widely via sharing mechanisms.

WeChat Security Center has released a governance notice, stating it will handle such illegal links according to national laws, regulations and platform rules, including restricting access.

Users are advised to verify information sources, not trust unknown links, and avoid filling in sensitive information like ID numbers or bank card details to prevent personal data leakage.
