White House AI Task Force Head Visits Silicon Valley to Meet Top AI Company CEOs
US Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton has taken on a new role leading the White House 'superintelligence task force'. His first stop is Silicon Valley.
Bloomberg reports he will meet CEOs including NVIDIA's Jensen Huang, OpenAI's Sam Altman, Anthropic's Dario Amodei, and Meta's Mark Zuckerberg. He also spoke publicly about AI safety with the head of cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks.
The meetings come shortly after Trump signed a voluntary safety agreement with several AI companies. Clayton said AI models need control and monitoring systems that both companies and the American public can accept.
Recent AI safety scares have raised public worries about catastrophic risks. The US government is now building closer ties with the AI industry through high-level talks.
