Xiaohongshu Releases AI Governance Rules, Requiring AI Content Labeling
Xiaohongshu released its AI governance rules, clarifying how AI accounts should be managed. If creators use AI virtual avatars, they must clearly state this, and their traffic won't be affected. AI-generated or edited posts need to be labeled, and the platform will automatically identify and mark any unlabeled AI content.
The platform discourages using cloud AI tools or phone scripts to run accounts automatically or pretend to be real people. It also bans teaching methods to use AI for content rewriting, removing watermarks, or avoiding review. Creating content with AI-synthesized voices or faces of others, or using AI to fabricate news events or social trends for traffic, is also prohibited.
Violations will face graduated penalties, such as limited distribution, muting, or account suspension. Accounts that cross safety lines like illegal activities or porn, whether AI-driven or not, are subject to strict community rules.
