Xiaomi unveils open-source AI desktop device HachimoDock
During the 2026 Guanzha Conference, Xiaomi's innovation product team unveiled HachimoDock, an open-source AI desktop device. It costs about 150 yuan to build, and packs a desktop pet, voice control for computer agents, smart home connection and custom parts creation. The team hopes it can be a beginner's first AI device for trying Vibe Coding.
Users just say an idea out loud, and the device creates and runs new features on the spot. It can turn into a microphone, a mini game console, an FM radio or a smart home controller. When people talk to the desktop pet, it turns requests into tasks for computer agents like Codex and WorkBuddy, and the small screen shows each task's progress.
HachimoDock's software code is now open on GitHub, along with parts lists, models and assembly guides. The team hopes to leave space for every user to shape the device in their own way and enjoy AI hardware creation at a low cost.
