Xpeng robot product head leaves as IRON humanoid robot nears mass production

Xpeng's senior director of robot product planning, Shi Xiaoxin, has left the company in early June after 1,675 days. He led the integration of Pengxing Intelligent and defined the IRON humanoid robot from prototype to production. In November 2025, Xpeng unveiled the IRON robot, featuring a human-like spine, bionic muscles, and flexible skin. CEO He Xiaopeng said the production version is on track for a Q3 reveal and mass production by year-end, starting with store trials. Next year, robot hardware and AI model revenue will become key growth drivers for Xpeng.
