1Password teams up with Anthropic to let Claude use your saved passwords safely

Password manager 1Password has teamed up with Anthropic to launch 1Password for Claude, a plugin that lets the AI assistant use your saved login details to do multi-step tasks like booking trips or managing accounts—but only after you say yes. The system uses a 'zero-exposure' security setup: credentials are sent through a safe channel, so Claude can use them without seeing the actual passwords or one-time codes. Each task needs your approval via a biometric prompt, and after filling in forms, the system checks nothing sensitive is left exposed before handing control back. The feature is now available for Mac users on any 1Password plan, requiring the desktop app, browser extension, and Claude's own desktop app and extension.
