a16z AI Top 100 List: Global AI Market Splits into Three Poles, DeepSeek Becomes the Only Cross-Camp Product
Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) partner Olivia Moore released the 6th Global AI Consumer Product Top 100 List (data as of January 2026), showing the global AI market split into three major camps. Western camp products like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity have highly similar user bases, mainly from the US, India, Brazil, UK, and Indonesia, with no significant usage in China or Russia. The Chinese camp is led by Doubao, Kimi, and DeepSeek. The Russian camp is rising: Yandex Browser's built-in AI assistant Alice has 71 million monthly active users, ranking among the global mobile top 10, and Sber's GigaChat made its first appearance on the web list.
DeepSeek is the only product across all three camps. Its web traffic comes from China (33.5%), Russia (7.1%), and the US (6.6%), with similar mobile distribution.
