Alibaba Cloud to shut down its virtual digital human product by late 2027

Alibaba Cloud announced that its virtual digital human product will be phased out due to a product strategy adjustment. Built by Tongyi Lab, the platform offered end-to-end digital human solutions, from custom avatars to AI-driven and scenario-based services.

Under the plan, new purchases will stop on November 30, 2026, while existing users can keep using the service until it expires. Renewals and version updates will end on May 31, 2027. On November 30, 2027, the service will fully shut down, along with the console, support and ticket services, and refunds will also end that day.

To keep businesses running, users are advised to move to alternative products on Alibaba Cloud's marketplace, including Ant Lingjing Digital Human, Xiangxin Digital Human and Yizhi Intelligent AI Live Streaming Digital Human. The platform previously served industries like smart education and news media, covering video broadcasting, business consultation and more.
