Amazon and Anthropic Deepen Collaboration: 10-Year $100B Compute Purchase + $250B Additional Investment

Amazon has deepened its partnership with leading AI firm Anthropic through a 10-year agreement: Anthropic will purchase over $100 billion in computing resources from Amazon AWS over the next decade, while Amazon will add up to $250 billion in investment to the previous $80 billion.

Anthropic will collaborate with Amazon's custom chip team Annapurna Labs to define and optimize future Trainium chips; AWS will provide Anthropic with a total of 5GW of multi-generational Trainium chip computing capacity. Of Amazon's investment, $50 billion will be disbursed immediately, with the remaining $200 billion to be provided upon achieving future business milestones.
