Amazon CEO: AI to Drive AWS Revenue to $600 Billion by 2036; 1 Million Drone Deliveries Expected This Year

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy stated in an internal meeting that AI is expected to push AWS's annual revenue to $600 billion by 2036, double the previous forecast. Addressing external doubts about Amazon's massive AI-related capital expenditure, he emphasized that AI offers huge business opportunities with clear market demand, and the $200 billion investment is not just based on trend expectations.

Jassy explained that the faster AWS grows, the more short-term capital expenditure is needed, as infrastructure like land, power, and chips must be invested in years in advance. Additionally, the meeting mentioned Amazon expects to complete its 1 millionth drone logistics delivery service this year.
