ByteDance launches Seedance 2.5 4K video model with a handy draft mode
ByteDance's Volcano Engine has launched Seedance 2.5 4K, a video generation model trained on facial expressions, subtle movements, and fine visual details. It is the strongest version in the Seedance 2.5 series.
The model supports a Draft mode. Users can quickly test their storyboards with 480P sample clips and polish the shots first, then create the final 4K video once satisfied. This makes creative trial and error much cheaper. For now, it is only open to some business customers, with wider access expected later.
The 4K version shows more texture, edges, and details, and its 10-bit color depth brings richer colors and smoother gradients, good enough for the big screen. In drama scene tests, it captured subtle facial reactions better, making performances feel more layered and vivid.
For reference-based generation and video editing, the model keeps the quality, sharpness, and colors of uploaded materials more consistent, and small text in posters and packaging is easier to read. Some film production and post-production companies have already started trying it out.
