Amazon Web Services teams up with Yao Foundation to train sports AI talents in China

Amazon Web Services has partnered with the Yao Foundation to launch a new sports and tech education program. The company will invest 1 million dollars in cash plus cloud and AI resources, bringing its global Breaking Barriers innovation program to China for the first time. The goal is to train talents with both AI skills and sports expertise. The plan has three stages: training students at 10 sports and tech colleges with a mentor team of senior architects; having students build AI teaching tools for real challenges in grassroots sports education, such as AI assistants that create personalized training plans; and testing the best tools in 100 rural schools. Amazon will also support the Yao Foundation Basketball Season with teaching, training and event support. The foundation's projects have covered more than 6,700 rural schools across 30 provinces in China, with over 9,200 volunteer teaching visits.
