AMD CEO: CPU market to grow over 35% yearly for next 5 years

At an event in Taipei, AMD CEO Lisa Su said the CPU market will grow over 35% annually for the next five years, driven by the global buildout of AI infrastructure. She noted that CPU growth was only 3-4% over the past 3-4 years as the industry focused on GPUs. As AI moves toward reasoning and agents, the CPU sector is entering a fast-growth phase. Su confirmed that CPU supply is currently "tight" due to unexpected demand surge, with overall demand far exceeding predictions from a year ago. She also mentioned bottlenecks in data center memory and power supply, but said these issues will be resolved quickly.
