Anthropic Acquires AI Biotech Startup Coefficient Bio for Over $400 Million

Anthropic recently acquired AI biotech startup Coefficient Bio for over $400 million. Founded just 8 months ago with a team of around 10 people, the company focuses on developing AI models optimized for biological research to accelerate new drug development.

Coefficient Bio will join Anthropic's medical life sciences team led by Eric Kauderer-Abrams. AI technology can significantly shorten the early stages of new drug development by simulating and quickly determining the targeted binding between drug molecules and action sites, improving screening efficiency.
