Anthropic CEO says governments should help oversee AI to prevent abuse of power

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said in an interview that AI is the first revolutionary technology mainly driven by private companies. He believes tech firms must work with governments to prevent power abuse and governance problems.

Amodei doesn't want the government to take over his company, but thinks public oversight is the most reasonable approach. Anthropic has set up a "Long-Term Benefit Trust" that can appoint or remove board members and even fire the CEO.
