Anthropic earns 2-4x more per employee than Meta and Google did

AI company Anthropic released a report saying that about 5 years after its founding, its revenue per employee has reached 2 to 4 times that of Meta and Google during their fast-growth years. Research firm Epoch AI estimates its annualized revenue per employee at about 9 million dollars, much higher than Meta's 2.55 million and Google's 2.11 million. The report shows the share of junior tech staff dropped from 21% in early 2025 to 14%, and junior tech hiring fell sharply from 27% to 9%. About one third of machine learning managers and one fifth of software engineering managers cut hiring due to AI. Meanwhile, sales and finance roles grew faster, and the company keeps expanding. Efficiency also jumped: engineers using coding agents now commit 5 times more code than 6 months ago, with no drop in quality. By August 2026, AI agents worked 6 times the hours of human staff. Hiring now values autonomy, judgment, and creative use of AI.
