Anthropic launches Claude Cowork for everyday tasks across devices

Anthropic announced that its Claude Cowork agent is now available on web and mobile, letting users continue conversations and file tasks across devices. It works with files, calendars, emails, and other tools to handle tasks like organizing data and drafting documents.

Over 90% of Cowork usage is for everyday knowledge tasks, not software development. Business operations and content creation make up about 50%, including expense checks and contract renewals. Users can start tasks on desktop and check progress on their phone.

Anthropic also added background task support, so scheduled jobs run even when no device is online. For key decisions, Claude asks for user confirmation on mobile. Cowork is now in beta for Max users, with more invites rolling out soon.
