Anthropic Launches Claude Opus4.6 and Sonnet4.6, Full Support for 1 Million Token Context
Anthropic announced the official full launch of Claude Opus4.6 and Sonnet4.6, both models supporting a 1 million token context window. Previously in Beta phase, this capability is now open to users with unchanged prices. Opus4.6 remains at $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens, while Sonnet4.6 is $3 and $15 respectively.
In the long context performance test MRCR v2, Opus4.6 achieved an accuracy rate of 78.3%, significantly higher than GPT-5.4's 36.6% and Gemini3.1 Pro's 25.9%. The new models have enabled 1 million context in Claude Code, reducing context compression issues in large codebase analysis and log retrieval, and supporting up to 600 images or 600-page PDFs per request.
From the crypto industry perspective, the 1 million token capability has practical value for scenarios like smart contract audits and blockchain transaction traceability, potentially replacing some manual complex code audit work.
