Anthropic Releases 80k AI Survey: 81% Users Say AI Delivers on Promises, Regional Attitudes Vary Widely
Anthropic recently released the largest qualitative AI research report to date, collecting 80,508 interviews from Claude users across 159 countries in 70 languages—it is currently the most linguistically diverse AI-related qualitative study.
The survey shows 81% of respondents believe AI has partially fulfilled their vision, with time-saving being the most frequently mentioned benefit (50% of mentions). The top three concerns are AI unreliability (hallucinations, citation errors, etc.), job/economic impact, and loss of human autonomy.
Regional attitudes differ significantly: Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa are most optimistic, seeing AI as a tool to cross capital and education barriers; Western Europe and North America are more negative, linked to economic impact concerns; East Asia focuses more on cognitive decline and loss of meaning.
