Ayar Labs and Wiwynn Form Strategic Partnership on CPO Co-Packaged Optics for AI Rack Interconnection

Ayar Labs, a leading startup in co-packaged optics (CPO), has recently formed a strategic partnership with Wiwynn, a data center IT company under Wistron. The two will collaborate to develop optical interconnection solutions for rack-level AI systems.

The partnership focuses on in-rack scale-up interconnection, combining Ayar Labs' CPO technology stack (including SuperNova lasers and TeraPHY optical engines) with Wiwynn's next-gen data center rack architecture. It aims to address key challenges in large-scale data center deployment, such as fiber management, CPO AI ASIC integration, heat dissipation, energy efficiency, and manufacturing feasibility.

The two companies will showcase their AI CPO solutions for next-gen AI data centers at OFC 2026 in Los Angeles from March 15 to 19, including HVDC-powered rack architecture and full liquid-cooled AI system reference designs.
