Baidu Releases Wenxin Large Model 5.1: Pre-training Cost Only 6% of Industry Peers, Ranks First Domestically on Search List

Baidu officially launched the new generation basic large model Wenxin 5.1, using multi-dimensional elastic pre-training technology. Its pre-training cost is only about 6% of industry peers of the same scale, yet it achieves leading basic performance. It excels in core capabilities like agent, knowledge understanding, and logical reasoning—Agent ability surpasses DeepSeek-V4-Pro, creative writing matches Gemini 3.1 Pro, and reasoning ability is close to global leading closed-source models.

Wenxin 5.1 ranks first domestically and fourth globally on the LMArena search list with 1223 points, being the only domestic model on the list. Its search capability can quickly integrate multi-source information to output more reliable answers, suitable for scenarios like content creation and smart assistants. It is now available for enterprise users and developers on Baidu Qianfan Model Square and Wenxin Yiyan official website.

Additionally, the Create 2026 Baidu AI Developer Conference will be held in Beijing from May 13 to 14, where Baidu will release the latest progress on Wenxin large model's technical breakthroughs and industrial applications.
