ByteDance Increases AI Infrastructure Spending to 200 Billion RMB This Year, Boosts Domestic Chip Investment

ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, has increased its AI infrastructure spending plan by 25% this year to 200 billion RMB. Its AI capital expenditure budget at the end of last year was 160 billion RMB, which has now been raised to 200 billion RMB.

Amid rising memory chip costs, ByteDance is still increasing its AI investment and plans to allocate a larger proportion of funds to domestic AI chips. Insiders say the budget increase is mainly due to the company's continued deepening of AI investment and the rise in memory chip costs.
