ChatGPT Paid Users Get New Cloud Storage Feature: Files & Images Accessible Across Conversations
OpenAI recently launched a cloud storage feature called Library for ChatGPT, available only to Plus, Pro, and Business paid users. It's currently rolling out globally except for the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK. This feature stores users' uploaded files or images, allowing access across conversations. After refreshing the web version, Library appears automatically in the sidebar, and the system has already saved some files uploaded in the past two weeks by default.
Users can select 'Add from Library' via the attachment button in the input box to access files. Files remain until manually deleted—deleting a conversation won't remove the file from Library. It takes 30 days for files to be completely erased after deletion, presumably related to compliance requirements.
