China Internet Finance Association Warns: OpenClaw Open-Source AI Agent Has Financial Risks; Beware of 'Shrimp Raising Finance' Scams
The China Internet Finance Association issued a risk alert stating that the open-source AI agent OpenClaw has four risks in financial applications: fund loss, transaction liability, data compliance, and new types of fraud.
The association advises financial consumers to be cautious about installing OpenClaw on personal financial service terminals. If necessary to install, do not grant financial operation permissions, fix vulnerabilities promptly, avoid entering sensitive information, and monitor Token fees. Meanwhile, be alert to scams like "shrimp raising finance" and "AI stock trading on behalf", use formal channels for transfers and investments, and refuse remote access to devices by others.
For institutions, the association recommends not installing OpenClaw on financial business terminals, not inputting customers' sensitive data, integrating its security management into information security scope, and organizing special training for employees to improve risk identification capabilities.
