China pushes local AI models to work with domestic chips

Li Chao, deputy director of China's National Development and Reform Commission, said AI technology and demand are growing fast. The NDRC is pushing for deeper integration of AI into the economy and society. They are guiding local AI models to work better with domestic computing chips, ensuring self-control and safe development. Earlier, the NDRC and the National Energy Administration released guidelines to use AI in power grid planning, equipment management, and security.
