China's 2025 AI Training & Inference Data Volume Rises 42.86% YoY, Inference Data Exceeds Training for First Time

In 2025, China's total data volume for AI training and inference reached 199.48 EB, a year-on-year increase of 42.86%. Notably, inference data volume hit 101.34 EB, surpassing training data for the first time.

Calculations show that the ratio of future inference computing power demand to training demand may reach 3:1 or even higher. To adapt, the National Data Bureau will optimize urban computing power layout for low-latency, high-reliability, high-security scenarios, promoting efficient collaboration and intensive use of the "East Data West Computing" project, national integrated computing network, and urban computing power.
