China's elderly care robot market expected to exceed 10 billion yuan this year

A report from China Software Testing Center shows that China's elderly care robot industry is taking shape, moving from 'tech testing' to wider use. The market size is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan this year.

The report says the main challenge is making the tech work well in real care settings. In January, China's Ministry of Civil Affairs issued guidance to use humanoid robots, brain-computer interfaces, and AI to develop products like meal assistance, rehab care, and emotional companionship.
