Claude Fable 5 hits 16.1% automation rate, setting a new AI benchmark record
The Center for AI Safety (CAIS) just updated its Remote Labor Index (RLI), showing big leaps in AI's ability to handle remote work. The test checks how well AI agents do real freelance jobs like 3D design, video animation, and data analysis, following strict industry standards.
The Claude Fable 5 model hit a 16.1% automation rate, smashing the previous record of 4.17% set by Opus 4.6. Since the RLI launched in late October 2025, the top score jumped from 2.5% to 16.1% in just 8 months.
On specific tasks like jewelry design, Fable 5 made rings that looked much better than earlier AI models, though they still can't beat human designers. It also improved on 2D animation ads and floor plans. This shows AI is getting closer to humans in complex creative work.
