Crackdown on AI-generated Fake Product Recommendation Notes: Qinglang Campaign Launches, First Unfair Competition Case Verdict
Recently, numerous AI writing tools have appeared online, which can mass-produce fake product recommendation notes and commodity reviews at low cost. China's Cyberspace Administration has launched the "Qinglang · Rectify AI Application Chaos" special campaign, focusing on clearing AI-generated "digital swill" and false information, and punishing non-compliant accounts and platforms.
The first unfair competition case involving AI-written product recommendation notes in China was ruled in Hangzhou. The defendant was ordered to pay 100,000 yuan in compensation for operating an AI tool that generates content tailored to a specific social platform's style. The court applied the "four-factor judgment method" to define that AI service providers must fulfill reasonable duty of care and must not induce the publication of false content.
Surveys indicate that nearly 30% of users have low acceptance of AIGC content. This verdict sets compliance boundaries for AI services and contributes to building an all-chain governance framework.
