DeepSeek outage fixed after 5 hours, users get refunds and bonus credits
DeepSeek's web and API services went down, showing a 'server temporarily unavailable' message to users. After nearly 5 hours of repairs, everything was back to normal. DeepSeek's official platform then announced it would compensate all API users for their usage costs within 7 days.
Tencent's WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy followed with their own compensation plans. Users affected while using the DeepSeek model in the domestic versions will get full refunds for the credits they spent, arriving within 7 working days. All domestic users also receive 500 bonus credits, which can be claimed on the usage management page before October 22 and are valid for one month.
This was DeepSeek's biggest service issue this month. During the outage, WorkBuddy showed a notice that DeepSeek was down and suggested switching to other models.
