DeepX to use Samsung's LPDDR-PIM for AI chips
Korean AI chip startup DeepX says it will use LPDDR-PIM memory computing in its products. PIM puts a processor inside DRAM to reduce data movement and boost AI efficiency. DeepX plans to pair its 80 TOPS 2nm edge AI chip DX-M2 with Samsung's LPDDR5X-PIM. The chip will cost under $50. The next DX-M3 targets 1000 TOPS and will use standard LPDDR6-PIM. Samsung is the only supplier of LPDDR5X-PIM.
