Doubao adds bill payment, pay water and power bills by voice

Doubao has rolled out a "life payment" feature. Users can now pay water, electricity and gas bills inside the app, just by talking or typing.

In tests, when a payment request is sent in the chat box, Doubao shows a service card and jumps to a dedicated payment page. The page covers three common bill types: electricity, water and gas. But some cities are not supported yet — in Qingdao, all three services show as unavailable.

Sources close to Doubao say the app is building more daily-life services, including travel and bill payments. Talking to the AI only triggers the service — users still need to link their account, confirm and pay step by step. It will not deduct money with a single sentence.
