Douyin is using large AI models to fight rumors. In the past year, rumors that got flagged saw their average views drop by 62%. The platform launched an "AI Truth" feature that uses cards to show users real facts and help them build a "cognitive defense."

Douyin also released its "Top 10 Rumor Debunking Cases" from the past year. All these rumors were identified or handled by the AI model. The feature, which went live last September, lets users access full info and debunked content when they see confusing posts or search for rumor-related topics.
