Ex-OpenAI CTO's Co-Founded Firm Partners with NVIDIA for Strategic Collaboration, to Deploy 1GW AI Computing Systems
Thinking Machines Lab, co-founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, has entered a multi-year strategic partnership with NVIDIA. The two parties will collaborate deeply in AI computing system deployment, architecture design, and open-source model promotion.
Starting early next year, the firm will deploy at least 1GW of NVIDIA's Vera Rubin systems and design training and service systems for NVIDIA's architecture, making cutting-edge AI and open-source models more accessible to academia and industry. NVIDIA has also made a significant investment in Thinking Machines Lab.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated that AI is a powerful tool for knowledge discovery; Murati noted that this partnership accelerates their ability to build AI that people can shape and own, unlocking human potential.
