Google opens the world's first AI art museum in LA
Google has teamed up with artist Refik Anadol to launch Dataland, the world's first AI art museum, inside The Grand LA complex in Los Angeles. The 2,500-square-meter space opens on June 20 and turns data into paint, creating an ever-changing art ecosystem.
The opening show, "Machine Dreams: Rainforest," is driven by the Large Nature Model, trained on natural world data. The museum uses Google Cloud tools like Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and Compute Engine to coordinate various AI models, turning complex environmental data into 1.2-billion-pixel hyper-real visuals.
The museum introduces a new way to interact—galleries actively talk back to visitors. Google's infrastructure handles the data, creating dynamic soundscapes, real-time mood sensing, and algorithm-enhanced scents that respond to human interaction. The entire system runs on Google Cloud with 87% carbon-free renewable energy, ensuring smooth and sustainable operation from tickets to pixels.
