Huawei Cloud's Qiyao time-series AI model tops global rankings

Time-series AI models serve as a key base for weather forecasting, energy management, factory operations, and finance. They are also a major focus of AI research and real-world applications today. Huawei Cloud's industry model team and East China Normal University have jointly developed a new time-series pre-trained model called Qiyao, built on Huawei's Ascend platform. It has taken the top spot on two major global rankings, TIME-leaderboard and GIFT-Eval, in the pre-trained model category.

The model was deeply optimized for training and inference on Huawei's Ascend ecosystem. It offers high accuracy, strong stability, wide adaptability, and easy deployment, marking China's entry into the top tier of global time-series models.

It works directly for zero-shot predictions, covering power grid load analysis, factory equipment fault detection, and financial trend analysis. It also supports low-cost fine-tuning to quickly meet the custom needs of different industries.
