Huawei to retire openPangu 2.0 models as new 2.1-Pro lands in Xiaoyi Work

Huawei Cloud has announced that its MaaS platform will stop selling two models, openPangu-2.0-Flash and openPangu-2.0-Pro, from November 6, 2026, and take them fully offline on November 30. The company says new versions of the openPangu series are in the pipeline and will roll out step by step.

Tests show that the new openPangu-2.1-Pro model is already live in Xiaoyi Work, with a focus on HarmonyOS task enhancement. Huawei has not revealed what the model can do, and specs like parameter count, context length and training data remain unknown. For now, it is only available inside Xiaoyi Work.

Xiaoyi Work is still in Beta and costs money to use. New users get 1,000 AI points free for 31 days. The basic plan costs 49 yuan a month and the standard plan 199 yuan a month. It supports market research, document processing, PPT making, data analysis, content creation and coding.
