Intel and SambaNova Jointly Launch Heterogeneous Hardware Solution for AI Inference, Available in H2 2026
Intel and AI inference chip company SambaNova have announced a collaboration to launch a heterogeneous hardware solution for inference workloads, available to enterprises, cloud service providers, and sovereign AI entities in the second half of 2026.
The solution combines GPUs for pre-filling, SambaNova SN50 RDUs for decoding, and Intel Xeon 6 processors for host head nodes and 'action' processing. By matching the most suitable hardware for each step, it addresses the shortcomings of existing GPU-only solutions.
SambaNova states that the Intel Xeon 6 processor offers over 150% faster LLVM compilation speed than Arm server CPUs, and its vector database performance is up to 70% better than existing x86 competitors. This accelerates end-to-end programming agent workflows, helping developers turn ideas into production-ready agents faster.
