Intel launches green computing cabin to turn clean power into AI tokens
At the 9th China International Import Expo, Intel China chairman Wang Zhicong introduced the green computing cabin. It packs green power storage and computing into a standard container. It will be placed in western China, working with solar and wind power to turn clean electricity into AI tokens on site.
Wang said western China has lots of clean energy but much of it goes unused. Sending power over long distances wastes a lot, and green power supply is not stable. The cabin can sit right next to a solar farm for direct power, then send tokens to companies and users through a computing network.
Cabins can connect and expand in modules, so 100 cabins can form a big computing center. It takes only 8 to 12 weeks from design to use, while a traditional center needs about two years of construction. Intel also pushes for 800V high-voltage DC power to save space for computing gear.
