Investors weigh cutting Anthropic's valuation to $1.5 trillion
Anthropic is moving toward its IPO, but rising AI funding costs and a global tech stock selloff have made investors cautious. AI infrastructure firms, chipmakers, and cloud providers are all feeling the pressure.
According to Reuters, some investors who attended Anthropic's investor day in San Francisco are now considering cutting its valuation from about $2 trillion to around $1.5 trillion.
Financial data shows Anthropic earned $16.8 billion in the third quarter, up 45% from the previous quarter, slower than the doubling growth in Q2. It still lost over $8 billion in operations in 2025.
The market believes Anthropic's IPO will shape the AI industry's near-term outlook. If it goes poorly, doubts about the AI infrastructure boom could deepen.
