JD Plans to Buy 3 Million Robots Over the Next Five Years

At the Robot and Embodied Intelligence Forum of the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, JD.com tech committee chairman Cao Peng shared how JD is moving AI from the digital world into the real world. JD's embodied data collection now covers more than 100 scenarios, with over 100,000 real work tasks collected.

JD has launched its "Physical AI Acceleration Program," focusing first on embodied robots across six areas including data, manufacturing, sales, and logistics. Over the next five years, JD Logistics plans to buy 3 million robots, 1 million self-driving delivery vehicles, and 100,000 drones. AgiBot robots have already entered JD Logistics' smart warehouses.

JD's AI is now used in more than 3,000 scenarios across retail, logistics, healthcare, and industry. Its 3,800-plus warehouses offer real settings for robot learning. JD is also building data collection centers, aiming to gather over 10 million hours of human scene video data and 1 million hours of robot operation data within two years.
