Unitree founder predicts data and computing power will be key resources of the future
Wang Xingxing, founder of Unitree, shared his prediction at the 2026 World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, China. He believes the most core resources of the future will be data, computing power, chip production capacity, energy, and minerals.
He also thinks next year will likely be a turning point for the robot industry or robot models. He once said that almost everyone in the world, including himself, still doesn't value AI enough.
Unitree has set three main goals: scaling up robot production for millions or even billions of future demand, developing small physical AI models that fit its own hardware through both in-house work and partnerships, and building super large computing clusters.
The company is also building a self-evolving system for robots. It uses a closed loop of "AI self-development, simulation training, real testing, and feedback iteration" to replace traditional manual debugging and speed up algorithm updates.
