Jensen Huang Says AGI Is Here After OpenAI's Astra Launch

Nvidia's Jensen Huang congratulated OpenAI on its new model, Astra, and said AGI is here. He noted that OpenAI went from ChatGPT to o1 to Astra in just four years.

OpenAI launched Astra this week, calling it the smartest and most human-aligned model, able to handle tough professional tasks with great speed and accuracy. OpenAI's president, Greg Brockman, said, "Welcome to the AGI era."

But AI scholar Gary Marcus disagrees, saying Huang gave no scientific proof and Astra meets only one or two of his 10 AGI criteria. OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, thinks AGI is a vague term and might just be a marketing word.
