KPMG Survey: Most US Enterprise CEOs Believe AI Is Overestimated Short-Term But Underrated Long-Term
A KPMG US survey shows three-quarters of large enterprise CEOs think generative AI was overhyped last year, but its disruptive potential over the next 5-10 years may be underrated. Companies are shifting from AI pilots to actual deployment, with related investments entering a transformative phase.
Nearly 80% of executives will allocate at least 5% of capital budget to AI this year, and 60% prioritize employee skill upgrading. Meanwhile, 90% of CEOs worry about AI-related data privacy risks and phishing attacks, and 61% face challenges in recruiting tech talent. Most companies increase AI investment while boosting cybersecurity spending to address risks.
