Kunlun Tech Launches Matrix-Game 4.0, a Video Model Game That Runs on One Consumer GPU
Video generation models are becoming a new trend in gaming, but their heavy computing needs have long kept them off everyday consumer devices.
Kunlun Tech has launched Matrix-Game 4.0, the world's first video model game that runs on a single consumer graphics card. It delivers 480p gameplay at 60 FPS on one NVIDIA RTX 5090, with less than 150ms of delay between pressing a key and seeing the response.
The model takes a new approach: a game engine tracks the world state and rules, while a video model renders detailed visuals in real time. For the first time, it forms a full loop from code-generated game logic to real-time video rendering.
The project is now open source on GitHub and HuggingFace. The team plans to add a refiner for higher resolution, explore multiplayer play, and offer finer visual controls.
