LinkedIn Confirms: Recruitment Volume Dropped 20% Since 2022, AI Not Yet Impacting Employment
Many professionals worry AI will take their jobs, but LinkedIn's latest data tells a different story.
Blake Lovett, LinkedIn's global affairs and legal head, confirmed at a summit that recruitment volume has dropped about 20% since 2022, but this change isn't driven by AI—it's more likely due to rising interest rates. No expected changes were seen in AI-vulnerable fields like customer support and administration.
He also noted that recruitment declines for graduates aren't significantly higher than mid-career professionals. However, job skills are changing faster: 25% shift in recent years, possibly 70% by 2030, so updating skills is advised to adapt to workplace changes.
